EWE...a worm in my salad!!!

...and what makes it even MORE disgusting is the fact that I only found half of it. I am still gagging and drinking water by the cups full. Thanks to wanting to share everything with my blog friends, I ended up looking it up on the internet and getting even sicker to my stomach when I saw the pictures and read up on what kind of worm it was. Icky, icky, icky, ect.
***Amended: We had Costco enchilada's later this evening and they were packed with black olives (which I normally love) but I couldn't eat them because they looked and felt just like the worm. Sorry, Joy, but I won't be eating the olives you pick out of your food for a while.
Armyworms: Are worms ranging from green to black in color and have three legs in the middle of their bodies so they creep across a leaf. The brown dusty adult moth lays its eggs in bunches covered with white scales. The newly hatched worms feed in groups, skeletonizing the leaf. As the grow they move out and devastate a lettuce plant. They will feed on the crown of the lettuce plant.

And check out what my little protein salad enhancer would have turned into.

haha..I remember that.
I can't believe people actually eat this stuff in foreign countries.
As I was researching, I also found that they make Armyworm Wine where they put a worm in each bottle.
...so disgusting.

That reminds me of the time i opened a thing of romaine lettuce and found a bloated rolly polly. Thank God it was whole, but it took me over a year to be able to eat fresh romaine lettuce again.

yeah, I am pretty leary of salad right now, which is a bummer because it was one of my favorite meals.
