"Love and Sorrow Felt by a Sparrow"

A sparrow is injured when she is hit by a car as she swooped low across the road.

Her mate brought her food and attended to her with love and compassion.

He left to get her food again but when he came back she had died. He tried to move her....a rarely seen effort for swallows!

He stood beside her, crying as he realized she was gone.

Finally, aware that she would never return to him, he stood by her with sadness in his eyes.
Sparrows will keep the same mate for their entire lifetime.

...and some people say that animals don't have feelings or emotions.

Awwww! That's so sad! That kind of thing is why I'll never watch "Where the Red Fern Grows" again. And I will never read the book either. The movie was hard enough. I cried my eyes out!

It's sweet and sad at the same time.

Do they feel sorrow when a little one has been removed?, 'cause the little one fell and broke a leg, 'tis a deadly thing i'v read, they say a bird a little bird with a broken leg would surely die, so took it to the wildlife rehab centre me did, but now methinks the mum and dad feel the sorrow of their little wonder taken away, does they?
